Community Exposure:

The University of New Orleans displays the logo of all sponsors on the Mini Baja vehicle. The vehicle, in turn, is displayed at all College of Engineering functions where it is a favorite attraction among other college students, alumni, high school students, and university visitors. The car always draws the largest crowds and piques the most enthusiastic questions among its admirers. One of the most often heard questions is “Where do the parts come from?” In answering this question the team is proud to showcase the investments of its sponsors. The vehicle is displayed before and after each competition where local and national media gather to capture the event. As a sponsor, your logo and a link to your website would also be prominently displayed on the team’s webpage.  

Team Exposure:

The engineering curriculum at UNO is demanding of time and effort. So team members (who must balance classes with Mini- Baja and work schedules) tend to be some of the most disciplined and motivated students at the university. Your involvement with these students places your firm in the coveted position of being able to develop working relationships with students who are unconstrained by purchasing policy and have yet to form brand preferences. Companies spend billions marketing to the 18 to 24 year old demographic. Every purchase at a campus bookstore is accompanied by a SWAG pack full of all manner of consumer goods given in an effort to claim some of that coveted market. And yet none of those producers gets the opportunity your firm gets as a sponsor, the opportunity to develop a professional relationship with the very best students.

Raising the Regional Brand:

UNO is a small school. And its engineering program is well respected but still somewhat obscure. As team members, this obscurity is a bit of a “chip on our shoulder”. We know that this is a good program, but that’s not good enough. Our overarching goal is to generate the kind of exposure for the UNO Engineering program that will fundamentally change people’s perception of New Orleans. When UNO student teams do well in national competitions, it’s an irresistible story that invites a national audience to begin associating the terms “New Orleans” with “Professional Excellence”. Our unfortunate recent history has ensured that everyone in the Metro area has had to make a positive decision to be here and to work to make this a better place to live. Your firm and UNO are already joined in a relationship. We either all swim or we all sink. We as students and citizens of this region benefit from your firm doing well. We hope you will agree that your firm benefits from UNO doing well.

Bronze Level: A donation of $500 and up gets:

o       Your company name on our T-shirt.

o       Your company logo on this year’s Baja racecar.

Silver Level: A donation of $1000 and up secures all benefits above plus:

o       A participation plaque.

o       An invitation to attend a test drive outing.

Gold level: A donation of $2500 and up secures all benefits above plus:

o      An on-site demonstration of the vehicle.

Platinum Level: A donation of $5000 and up secures all benefits above plus:

o      A personal on- site demo with entire team.

o      An opportunity to drive the car on an open course.
